At one time there was a lead-zinc mining operation at
Pine Point in the Northwest Territories which operated from 1962-1988, a one-company town was built which at its peak contained 1,200 residents. At the end of mining some homes were moved, but most of the town was totally destroyed. A former resident has a website
Pine Point Revisited , which inspired some artists to create
